Warm and very humid!

Monday, July 05, 2010

Yep, that's what we faced this morning on our outing. 74 degrees but with 91% humidity - eghads!! Goal this morning 3 miles using the 30/30 intervals.
Other goal was to get out earlier. Try to beat the sun from hitting us.

So, we got up a bit earlier. DH is NOT a morning person so it takes him a bit longer so, about 6:40 we headed out. 6:00 would of been better for me as the sun started to peek out at us on the 2nd mile. Anyway, we managed though we could feel it in our legs from yesterday some. Will need to do a better job of stretching today to get the lactic acid moving. Our time was 35:12 with splits of: 11:15/11:38/12:15 for an average of 11:43. I clearly had to slow a bit by the end with my temperature rising but the chiller did help.

Now to get on with my day. Only big plan is to get my hair cut and colored today and back to work tomorrow. A good weekend all around. Good food, exercise, time with family and friends. That's what life is about I'd say.

Wow, good for you, I am only up to the "walking" stage, my legs are very short and round and I don't like to walk with others as I slow them down, but I have walked in this heat every day at Noon on my break. Last night it was 100 degrees on my back patio when I got home from work at 7:15 pm. That is just Wrong! Happy running, I will be right behind you, no further, keep loooooooooooookking...there, there I am! Waving!

You're doing great! I haven't run at all since last Thursday and need to get going again. Being on vacation and visiting family has been very relaxing and I've been a slug!

Yay! It sounds like a good weekend (except for the humidity-not my favorite thing!) Back to work for me, too...I"m sure I'll be fine when I get there but every time I have a few days off I start longing for retirement!
    Have a great week!

Great Job. I was going to go out this morning and ride my horse, but I figured that wasn't fair to him to put him to work in this heat. It's one thing to do it to myself, but no good to do it to something else.

Great job. I am an earlier morning person than DH so I understand the waiting.

I love the encouragement from LIVE2RUN4LIFE. I was going to walk/run today but my mind won out and I just walked. You are doing fantastic!!!!

You are doing great. You only slowed down 1 minute in that last mile (over the first mile), and all the times are really quite good for those conditions. Even though you feel uncomfortable, your body is clearly adapting. Your mind just needs to catch up. But it's getting there!

I was going out this morning until I heard the rain pouring down. So here I am instead. Once I get caught up here I'll go pop Leslie in. Enjoy your me day, once everyone gets up and moving it's back to working on lizards here. LOL!!

We're going to have another scorcher today too. Most of the day I'll be able to avoid it but at some point I do have to go grocery shopping. I really do enjoy summer and the heat, but 95 can be a bit much especially in town with all the pavement. It's not too bad to swing on the hammock down by the water.

Have a good day, and try to stay cool.

It's amazing how much harder it is to workout in the heat and humidity....Good for you for getting out there though. Have a great spark-day!
