Love and fireworks

Yesterday was my 34th wedding anniversary and my husband continues to surprise me every year on this date by finding a great place to eat and a special surprise to follow...
I'm the romantic one in our couple and will write him love notes throughout the year, surprise him with a candlelit supper for two and just a kiss and cuddle after a hard day at work. He's an engineer and an accountant as well so love words are far in between but his actions speak louder of his love for me than his words. He'll be there when I'm feeling down on myself and is always supportive at whatever I'm committing myself to, a new job, losing weight or raising a large family of 6 girls. And after so many years I'm still looking forward to see and be with him every day of my life...

Married love can be enduring but just like weight loss it needs tracking every day and making a priority in your life for lasting results!
We were married on July 3rd 1976 in Montreal, Canada. The same year the summer Olympics were held for the first time in our French speaking province of Quebec! What a great omen it has been! And nowadays this date falls right in the Montreal's International Jazz Festival so last night after a great meal (I managed to stick to my meal plan with a celebratory Lychee Martini and a glass of white wine to celebrate!) in the old port, we walked to the Jazz festival and listened to an outdoor show for one hour then walked back to watch the fireworks by the piers. For the past few years, Montreal has also been hosting an international fireworks competition from June to August so that a different country performs every Saturday night by the St-Lawrence River. This year we were lucky enough that our anniversary fell on a Saturday so we had our own fireworks to celebrate those 34 wonderful years together!
I feel blessed meeting my husband when I was a teenager eager to learn English and his sister's school and mine participated in a school exchange between France and England. And when my family emigrated to Canada, he followed me there and now after all this time we would do it all over again! Now that's romantic, isn't it?
