A wonderful day!

Friday, July 02, 2010

So today I had the day off and felt the desire to see if I could get a little more Ava time. Sara was kind to oblige as she was working and her sister was fine too. She could go to the pool for a few hours so a win-win. So I picked her up and brought her here for a bit. DH was home too so we had a little fun with her. Then I took her for a road trip to meet her great grandparents. (The ex-inlaws) They were tickled to meet her as they had not and she is six and a half month's old now. She was good as gold. She also met a few 2nd and 3rd cousins. I half expected her to show a bit of fear in 'strangers' but she had none and was good as gold. I sorta messed up her nap schedule for the day but that happens on occasion. Sara was understanding. We now have photos of the meeting and hopefully they'll get to see her again.

They are young for being greats -just early 70's and she is number 10. Oh my!

Enjoyed the visit and sharing Ava. Now I need to rest. She moves non-stop and am glad I've lost weight so I can keep up. She's nearly crawling as well. Can army crawl or roll anywhere. She'll be on her knees racing around soon - then the fun WILL begin. My pedo should get a good workout. LOL

She is adorable but then she is your grandbaby!!! I'm so glad that you took her to meet them. That is something that is very important especially in their lives. They will be forever grateful to you, Weezie. You are a sweetie!!!

I'm glad you made memories for all of them. It is so sad when we have divorce and lose family ties that we forged so firmly. I know at the wedding I felt that connection with my sisters and brothers in law. I miss seeing them and keeping up with their lives, but I cannot do much about it without seeing the ex too much.

My in laws are gone. My ex was the product of a second marriage and at the end of the children there. They were older when he was born.

I'm glad my mother is still here to be the great grandmother. The kids do relate to her although she is getting frail now. She still has fun things to do and loves the kids to visit.

I'm glad you are a fantastic grandmother. Keep making memories with this sweet little girl.

lol ... Ava's look says it all ... watch out 'cause here I come! G certainly wears me out. I love to have him and I enjoy every moment, but he's so busy! Being a grandparent is wonderful.

I think it was wonderful of you to make the effort to share her with your ex-in-laws. Not very many people would have done that, and it looks like they appreciated it.
