Weekend Wrap-up

Monday, June 14, 2010

Had a busy but nice weekend. Went to my friend Judith's funeral on Saturday morning. Lots of people, nice music and 3 hours later, its still going on. Unfortunately, we had to leave. I had weighed in before the service, lost 1.4 lbs!!!, and picked up my sweetie and we headed to the funeral. So, after sitting there in a packed church for 3 hours, we were exhausted and hungry. We left, went home to change clothes, had a nice light lunch and took a nap before the wedding we had that evening. We had a wonderful time at the wedding. Really nice, good food and we did lots of dancing - that was my exercise for the day! Sunday morning, we didn't get to sleep in after a late night out. Our friends were moving to their new house and we were helping. We were a little late, but not too much. We stopped for coffee so I could function emoticon and then got to their house. What probably should have been a fairly fast event, if they had rented a uhaul, turned into a 5 hour event. They did feed us some pizza, which tasted really good after working so hard, but neither of us had anticipated being there that long. Went home and relaxed for a bit. I didn't get on my computer at all on Saturday, so I was playing catchup on Sunday. We watched a movie. Then the minute we were done, we headed out to meet up with my cousin and his partner who were passing thru town on their way to Virginia. We had a nice dinner at a local diner. My dad, my brother and one of his girls and my sweetie met the two of them. By the time we got home, it was almost 9pm. Sweetie proceeded to crash immediately - me? I had stuff to do to prepare for the week. So, I did what I could, read the Saturday and Sunday paper for a bit and could not fall asleep. A few hours earlier, I couldn't even keep my eyes open. I finally got to sleep, probably around Midnight or so, but woke up at 5:30am, so I definitely did not get my usual 8 hours. I am really tired today and just trying to make it through the work day, luckily I am not too pressed with deadlines, so I can work at my snail pace today emoticon. I so wish I could say that I plan on going straight home after work and laying on the couch, but no, I have to go to a friends house and get the low down on taking care of her garden. She and her husband will be out of town for a week and I will be taking care of their 3 kitties and their garden. The cats, no big deal, but I don't want to kill their garden emoticon. Then my cousin invited me and sweetie for dinner in their really nice RV. They do not leave town until tomorrow, so I am going to visit with them tonight, but I am not going to stay all night. Sweetie cannot go, since he teaches in the evenings. I want to be home by 8:30 so I can get ready for bed and relax a bit and get a good nights sleep. emoticon I have been walking all over campus today - I have already taken 3 nice walks emoticon and will have my 10,000+ steps in by the time I leave work. It keeps me from stressing out too much and keeps me awake!

Tomorrow is a new day, hopefully feeling much more rested and no plans after work. I am excited though - I have two DVD's on hold at the library and plan on picking them up tomorrow. They are both exercise DVD's - one is for yoga and the other is for BL boot camp. Thought I would try something different to add to the mix of circuit machines and walking.

My stress level is good. I am tired, but not really stressed. And I know that tomorrow evening I will have all to myself, so I am ok. emoticon
