Day 28: I owe it all to Skechers Shape Ups

Thursday, June 03, 2010

I achieved a milestone today. This is the first time since last September that I have run 3 times in one week, and I am feeling no pain!

Wearing Skechers Shape Ups (with orthotics) everyday has taken care of all my chronic foot problems. I don't wear them while running of course, but that is about the only time I don't.

In other good news, my tricky sacroiliac joint is settling down too. I haven't worn the annoying belt in about a month either.

I can't tell you how happy I am. When I couldn't run, I missed it, and I got into all kinds of trouble trying to make do with elliptical trainers, recumbent bikes, and other machines. It's restoring my spark, and giving me a sense of freedom that I haven't had in a while.

Interestingly, even though I wasn't able to run for over 6 months, I was able to pick back up right about where I left off, thanks to my other aerobic activities. I was really surprised that I haven't lost ground, so I'm thinking of celebrating by running the Run for Roses 5K that I did last year as my first race. Last year it took place around the 3rd week of June, but I'll have to look up the specifics.

I'll let you know. I hope you are well and happy too.

That is so amazing and wonderful!! I know you've been through a LOT to get to this point, and it must feel like getting a second start at life!! (At least that's how I'll feel if I can get my jogging/running under way. I'm still resting up the knee before another attempt. A doctor MIGHT be in the picture if I get desperate, LOL!)
