Skechers Shape Ups: Day 8 (or: Light at the End of the Tunnel)

Thursday, May 13, 2010

There was a day 5 blog that disappeared into the great electronic void a few days ago, and since then, I've been tired and cranky because of everything that has been going on at work, so I haven't gotten back to writing.

Things got a little easier today, and if all goes well, next week I'll have 2 days of work and 3 days of off site training. The situation at work is that we're basically down 3 people out of a unit of 6, and out of the 3 who are left (including myself), I'm the one who is expected to do most of the compensating for the missing staff. If I tried to explain, well... it would take too long.

So, about my feet, there is GOOD NEWS. Today is only the 8th day I've had my new Skechers, but what a difference! When I'm wearing them, I no longer feel ANY PAIN. If I walk barefoot around the house, I can still tell that I have probletendinitis, but it no longer bothers me to the same degree, and when I'm wearing my Shape Ups, I can actually forget I have it.

Even more importantly, I haven't developed any new problems since I got these shoes. This is huge, because if you've been following my saga, you'll know that I haven't been able to get out of physical therapy since December because every time I thought I was almost done, I developed a new problem. I think I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel

I plan to get my running shoes out this weekend and try them out again. Wish me luck!

OOh I sympathize. Nothing worse than painful feet, everything you do depends on them. I'm glad you've found something that helps.

Glad to hear that your feet are doing much better. It's hard to be motivated when your feet don't cooperate.

curious- is it plantar faciitis(sp) that troubles you. I haven't found good shoe for that. ice and orthotics help me but I am curious now about the sketchers.

I am glad that I read your blog on the Sketchers. So please to hear that you are doing much better. I just got a pair a week ago but have not worn them. I have some major back issues and had a spine fusion done almost 4 yrs ago and had been doing really well until the past 3 months. My husband got them for me thinking that maybe they might help with my back pain. I hope that I can get some good results like you did. Hope your running shoes will do the same for you too. Have a great weekend and stay strong and keep on Sparking.

That is such great news! I'm so happy and relieved for you!

I just picked up my new Brooks tonight and am slowly breaking them in. No running for now, while I try to rest my knee. I'm trying to decide whether these shoes feel too big, though.

I have the champion and the la gear equivalent and love them. I normally can't stand shoes and they are off as soon as I get home but these stay on all day and they are so comfy. Glad the skechers are working for you!!
