Skechers Shape Ups: Day 4
Sunday, May 09, 2010
Another day that started out with good plans, and ended up otherwise. My exercise today was purely incidental: a few steps here, and a few steps there. I started out at home in my new super-duper flip flops (Reebok Easytone: not so easy on the feet, not so easy on the budget).
I always intended the fancy flip flops for home use only, but they really don't cut it even for that. My feet simply need more support or they hurt. I put on socks and moved up to my Skechers. Ah, relief! I still have them on, and I'm not taking them off until I go to bed. I'm very happy in them.
It's Mothers' Day. The day started out with breakfast in bed: homemade waffles topped with raspberries and (a little bit of) whipped cream, and coffee with milk, cinnamon, and sugar added. I felt so spoiled. I woke up slowly, read my novel for a little bit (Georgette Heyer's "Cotillion," -- brain candy for stressful times). As I started feeling more awake, I started making some cards, thinking I'd make just a few and then go out for a walk.
The walk didn't happen because my stepmother came over and liked the cards so well that she wanted a dozen of the same to give as a gift to her pastor's wife who is graduating with a degree tomorrow (counseling, maybe). That required another trip to the store for supplies, and some more work, and here we are. Time flies.
Fortunately, making cards is sort of therapeutic, and the kids didn't have to be driven anywhere today. Now, on to figure out how to fit exercise in tomorrow.
