Skechers Shape Ups: Day 3

Saturday, May 08, 2010

This is going to be a really short update. I started out the day with high energy and good intentions that fell flat. I continued to take pleasure in my new shoes, but other than that, I didn't get any exercise, and have nothing new to report, footwise.

I attended the final game of my daughter's first season on her school's JV softball team. It was really exciting. They played well, and the mercy rule was invoked when the score reached 17-7. My daughter started out the season NEVER having played softball, and she has come a long way. The coach encouraged her to keep up her skills over the summer and come out again next year. It was sunny, and the temperature was pleasant, but the wind was blowing pretty hard, and we got a lot of dust in our faces and on our clothes.

After a quick stop at home for lunch and a change of uniforms, we then went to her soccer game. (Yes, she a busy kid.) Her team won that game too. After a while I tuned out because the wind was bothering me. I stopped taking pictures because I couldn't do it with one hand on the camera and the other holding my hat on. I was planning to go to the gym after that, just to get out of the wind and exercise, but I fell asleep almost as soon as I got there, and barely woke up for carry out dinner.

Fortunately for me, my husband took care of taking our daughter to her next event (a music lesson), and finally to a youth group meeting. She gets picked up in half an hour from the home of a friend who is also a member of the youth group.

How am I going to keep up with this kid, and my son, and get my exercise when my husband is out of the country on business???

Yikes!! I remember those days! It is unbelievably hard to find time just for you. I agree with Sue--walking or jogging at these events is a good idea. If you just walk up/down sideline your daughter may not be embarrassed! LOL You can only do what you can do! I'm following the skechers to see if I want to invest! emoticon

How about jogging around the perimeter of the soccer field? Or would your daughter think that was just too weird for a mom?

I like the daily blogs, by the way. Hoping those Skechers keep working out for you!
