Yep, I find myself smiling a bit.
My oldest son, Michael, is married to a lovely young lady, Monica. She struggles, or has been, with her weight. Understand back in high school she was the hometown crowned queen and beautiful inside and out. As the years progressed, she like man, added some pounds. She isn't at all tall and they enjoy their life so eating and drinking is part of their world. Food is her big downfall and so she has about 30 lbs she'd love to lose.
She has been watching me over the last couple of years and has seen my transformation and is proud of me and supportive and of course curious how I do it. So I've shared and yes, her losing weight will require her to make some changes. Like no ice cream sundaes daily. Without a doubt, she is a stress eater and they have had their struggles with jobs and such. Like most young couples starting out. Anyway, she has decided it is time. Time to get serious and try to lose those extra pounds as they'd like to start a family soon. Losing it before is a wise choice.
Well, she has started and is walking and trying to exercise more. She is also eating better which is the biggie. It is nice as my son is also working with her and exercising and helping her eat better, which doesn't hurt him either, so together they are working on getting ready for parenthood.
So long story short, she keeps in touch and I just got a text and she is tickled as she is feeling good as she is toning but also has lost 6 lbs. I sense the momentum of this so she will be able to keep her focus and continue.
Maybe this old MIL is doing something good in her life by setting an example. Yep, I'm smiling about it and that she shares with me for that 'atta girl' is nice.
