Bridge of Lions Reopens in St. Augustine
Wednesday, March 17, 2010
Well, today after about four years, the Bridge of Lions reopened in St. Augustine!
It was closed for renovation when a temporary bridge was built. The Historical Society of St. Augustine did not want the old bridge torn down as it has been there since 1927. So after much time and money (about $80k) the newly restored bridge was reopened today!
A good friend of mine entered a contest to be one of 27 chosen to be the first to walk over the newly refurbished bridge and she won! Therefore, DH and I went, in the rain, to cheer her on which was way cool because we got to walk over the bridge after they did. I walked briskly and counted it toward some cardio today!
Afterwards, we came home and watched the George Clooney movie "Up In The Air" which was pretty good. At about 3:30pm we drove up to Donovan's Irish Pub and had our dinner of Corn Beef and Cabbage for St. Patty's Day; it was soooo good!
It was a pretty fun day!
