Yes! I did! Partly because I was using my inner ear imbalance which keeps me off balance as an excuse and partly because I am an all or nothing type person...as in if I can't do the whole Walk Away the Pounds video doing everything Leslie does, then why do it? Well, I had an attitude adjustment I had to make. Just like with telling myself no to processed foods which I know are literal poison to my body, I had to tell myself to work-out. Just as if a part of me was this small inner child. So was the exercise forced? You bet....but it got done. I took Chris Downey's advice from The Spark and worked on 10 minutes. Lo and behold, within a week, I was doing more. I was still having the fight with myself to get started, true, but once I was into it, I liked the feeling and did more. I also had to lose the all or nothing mentality. I have a disability...deal with it!...I can still move. So I do what I can in the Walk Away the Pounds DVD, I use a stationary bike that is recumbent so it's closer to the ground if vertigo hits and I have to crawl around because I can't stand up. And when I was bored to tears with what I had to work out with, on a good feeling day, I went on YouTube and found some fun, slower line dances I could do....at least it was a good laugh with moving my body...even if not completely in step. I also found a few seated type videos on Sparkpeople that work for me so now I have a little more in my arsenal to change things up.
You may have to talk to yourself...do so positively but firmly. Aim for 10 minutes to start with....a MUST DO, no ifs, ands, or butts. Once you get used to your routine...give it at least a week, maybe longer, you will find your body actually wants to move. Come on now...you can do it!!! Believe in yourself...push yourself when you need to...you'll get there!
And by the way....awesome on getting the food downpat...that's half the battle so WOO-HOO to you! Don't forget to pat yourself on the back...that is an awesome accomplishment. 3774 days ago
I don't normally have this problem, but today I don't want to exercise. Maybe because it is a gloomy rainy day. I have a March Challenge that I need to live up to...I guess that is why it is called a Challenge. Good Luck & I hope you jump up & get to exercising. 3774 days ago
