Having A Blast (cont'd)

2/19/2010:

Woke up at 3.50a.m for my morning workout. (I am able to do this every morning because I go to bed quite early).

Workout:
1. Denise Austin's total body blast boot camp (cardio/strength/stretches) - 50 minutes

I had to leave early for town since I had to do some clothes shopping for my little boy (oh, he is growing so fast and he is so choosy about his clothes.) Got to town with a bit of time to spare and the weather was so good that I decided to put in a one hour brisk walk.

Finished the shopping in good time and headed home before it got too hot (I don't do too well in the heat, it makes me very sluggish).

Did abit of laundry (I hate doing laundry, but I guess I was inspired or something) then prepared dinner for the family.

Spent the rest of the evening logging in my workouts and water intake.

It rained quite heavily in the evening and that got me really excited. I love the rain, I never used to but I do now. I guess it's yet another area of growth for me.

I am very greatful for a day well spent.

2/20/2010:
I was awake before my alarm went off ( I hate it when that happens) but then I decided to give myself an extra hour of sleep since I don't really have anything planned for the day.

I went abit workout-crazy today, another day of serious bootcamp.
Workouts:
I did the following before breakfast:
1. Turbo Jam cardio party Mix I (40 minutes)
2. Ab Jam (20 minutes)
3. Walk at home, 2.5miles walk & jog (30 minutes)
4. Walk at home, 4-mile super challenge (60 minutes)

Took a break, had breakfast, did some reading then continued with the following workouts:
5. Brisk in-home walking, roughly 12min/mile (30 minutes)
6. Fat burning workout for dummies (this one always raises my spirits, it was one of the first workout DVDs I invested in) - 40 minutes.

It was really exciting to see my pedometer reading 30,000 steps before mid-day, and without me going outdoors. Last evening's rain continued into the morning, but I'm glad that was not an excuse for me to curl up and skip my workouts. It was kind of fun for me to exercise as I watched the rain through the window. I felt superior in some ways to people who were asleep, like my dear husband. I enjoy taking a Saturday morning walk with him, but today he missed out because of the rain. I don't think I can convince him to walk indoors, but I'm working on that.

So my leave from work has come to an end and I've enjoyed every minute of it. I'm glad I did this because I actually feel I have achieved what I set out to do - recharge my batteries. Back to work on Monday, which happens to be my 38th birthday (happy, HEALTHY birthday to ME!) I had planned for a weigh-in on my birthday, and I haven't chickened out yet. Before that I plan to get myself a special birthday present, a brand new bathroom scale. I hate the one I have now, it doesn't motivate me to weigh myself (excuses, excuses).
