60 lbs gone for three years now

I still cannot believe I have kept 60 lbs off for about three years now, within plus or minus five pounds. I have finally decided to post some before / after photos, mostly as a reminder to myself to never let myself go back there. The before photo is not even my heaviest but it's the only I had, taken at the start of one of my many weight loss attempts. I have never shown anyone that photo before and have kept it hidden. But I have finally decided that it would be best to keep it out in the open to me as a reminder.
It does amaze me that I never really realized how big I had gotten. When I looked in the mirror, it never seemed that bad, even though I knew I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, walked with a cane around the house because my feet and knees always hurt. I used the walls at work because I was too vain for the cane. I did keep the cane as a reminder as well. Because of the three co-existing obesity related medical conditions, I was being evaluated for gastric bypass. But insurance pulled the plug on that option because of the cost and I ended up doing it the old fashioned way with diet and exercise. Even with all that, I never realized how big I was, except in photos, which I avoided like the plague.
So today I post the photos, so I will always remember and be aware and stop hiding behind food and excuses. I am also keeping in mind that I have not taken this weight loss journey to win attention from guys or to be more socially accepted. I did it for me, just me, so that I can live my life to the fullest.
I deserve it.
