The month of December was hard for me. I only went down 3 pounds the whole month, but wait "only"... isn't that a victory? I don't know why I felt a bit defeated. I enjoyed my birthday, Christmas, and New Years. I ate candy canes, birthday cake, nice meals, had cocktails, and chocolate, and I still lost 3 pounds.
So I just reset things on my page right before New Years, and I was given a lower caloric range because the less I weigh, the less I burn doing everything. Basically I lost 1 serving of carbs at each meal. I am down to 1,250 calories to 1,600. It seemed hard the first few days to stay within this range, but I re-lost my New Years gain of 3 pounds (my whole month of December loss) in one week. So I think this month might be a good month for weight loss. I notice my weight was consistently a little lower each day of this week, which is how I use to lose weight. December was up and down with drastic weight loss somedays and nothing on others, so it was probably about time to reset those nutrition settings.
Now I really feel like I can conquer that last 36 pounds. It's amazing how efficiently our bodies adjust to changes. It's a good thing, but it makes weight loss a little tricky. Thank goodness there is Spark People to do all the calculations for me. Darn homeostasis!
