Gallbladder Surgery

Thursday, January 07, 2010

After going to the ER on 12/19, it has been discovered that I have a gallstone. Thus, as of yesterday I have surgery scheduled for January 28th. Not quite sure how I'm feeling. It will defiintely be a setback for me financially, which is depressing since I was hoping to be back in school full-time come August, not sure if that can happen now. But I'm just hoping that health wise I will feel great. And this is just added motivation to eat better and be as healthy as I can be.

So far this week I've done great tracking all of my foods. I did go over my calories slightly, but I guess thats to be expected a little when you're just starting out. Its been eye opening to see what the nutrition content is of some of the foods I've eaten, even the things I thought were "healthy". I'm looking forward to continuing to learn more about what I should be eating and to making progress on my weight loss journey.

I found tracking to be a big eye opener too! I've been tracking only a few days and I keep going over in calories... but it's a start.... Are they going to be able to do your surgery laparoscopically? That would definately cut back on your healing time and get you back on the spark track sooner... Good Luck with everything! emoticon
