Super sleepy day for me but my little girl was VERY active!

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

This morning I had a doctors apt, nothing major just my normal checkup at the dermatologist. After for some reason my energy started going down hill fast. I came home and was exhausted as if it was night or something. I crashed and woke up this evening around 5:00 and now nothing has been done for the day! I drank most of my gallon of water because I started it early, but my walk, well, that did NOT happen. I am going to go out for a few miles tonight with my husband but it will not be the 6 miles I was hoping for. That is ok, tomorrow is a new day and obviously my body was tired and needed rest for some reason. Yes, I know I am pregnant but this was very out of the blue for me. I have had periods of fatigue but nothing like this. So now after sleeping the whole day I feel good but really I could lay down and sleep through the night, but I do need to get up so I can eat. This was just one really hard day for me.

On a lighter side my little girl was so active this morning and I felt her body move on the surface of my belly for the first time! I have been feeling kicks on the surface for weeks now but I have never felt with my hands on my belly her squirming and total body movements, if that makes sense. I was amazing, I wanted to both laugh and cry and the same time I could not believe it! It was as if I was feeling her rub up against my hands which were on my belly. It was a feeling that is hard to describe! I love her so much and we have not even met yet and every day she grows inside of me, I feel I grow to love her more.

I am off to get some food for my little angel. I promise to log my calories, walking and so on as I do everyday tomorrow morning. Despite being a total sleepy head today I will accomplish something! Well, really I think I already have. I have given my body rest and when pregnant, that is an important thing!

Great job listening to your body....you may be coming down with something...who knows. Oh, it may just be all that hard work your body is doing growing that lil' princess of your's. I've heard that weeks 24-28 are major growing times for the baby. That's probably why you're so tired. I'm tired all the time (the joys of chasing a 3-yr old), so I hardly notice being more tired from one day to the next. Of course, that will all change in a few short months....LOL

You will be suprised at how much your bundle of joy will take out of you. Eating the right stuff is so important right now along with the rest. My wife is 33 weeks pregnant with twins right now and how fast she can get tired. The greatest thing is when she is sitting down and lifts her shirt over her belly and you can see the two of them moving around. Good luck on the remainder of your pregnancy. I hope your OB has 3 or 4D ultrasound as it is the greatest and you will cry.

Your body knows what it needs, and apparently, it needed sleep yesterday. Take it easy and enjoy this pregnancy!

That is Soooooo Awesome that you felt her kick! I cannot wait till that happens! I am so excited for you! I am still in my stage of "is this for real?". I hope and pray We get to your point. Wish us luck. I am really glad you slept and had some rest. YOU workout so hard girl!

I mean 8 miles a day sometimes you walk? Wow.. YOU have to be the most Energetic pregnant woman I know! Just take it easier. You have worked out for so long and you look great, you can take a break now and then. Don't feel bad if you don't work out. Your baby needs some rest. Listen to her.

Congrats on feeling the baby kick though! That is priceless!

Sometimes, sleep is the most important thing when pregnant. All that rest helps your baby to grow.

I loved the first time I felt my baby kick from the outside. It felt even more real. It's so fun when I poke him/her and s/he pokes back!

That is so awesome. I remember when I first had that kind of experience with my son. He would push his but against my hand. It was very funny and yet very emotional. Enjoy those wonderful moments and try to get some rest.

Take time to savor that precious feeling of movement and memorize it....those are cherished moments for sure : ) I miss them. It is so good that you listen to your body and gave yourself the rest you and baby girl needed. You will likely start feeling the fatigue more and more as her growth demands more from your body...that is perfectly normal...but challenging for someone like you who is used to being so energetic and active ; D Just continue what you are doing in setting your goals and doing your best to meet them...and also being flexible when things come up....the flexibility will suit you well when baby girl arrives and has everything around her happily in flux : D You continue to amaze and inspire me daily....keep taking such wonderful care of the both of you!! emoticon

My wife and I have an 18-day-old. I admire your healthy habits. Take it easy on yourself while you are pregnant. There are days when you will need more rest. Your baby appreciates the healthy start you are giving it.

The tiredness continues after the newborn gets here, but it's totally worth it. Blessings!

I'm glad you were able to nap and give yourself what you needed today! Hope tomorrow is a better day (although to me, sleeping the whole day sounds pretty good!)

So cool about your daughter's movements! We had lunch with friends a few years ago about a week before the wife delivered. Her belly was ENORMOUS and I swear, you could SEE the baby kicking (FWIW, she gave birth to a 10lb baby, so that might have accounted for the visuals!)

Anyway, enjoy this "alone" time with your little girl!!
