I DID IT!!!!

I didn't think that I could do a 5K with my knee, but it was for a good cause: Breast Cancer Awareness. I decided to try and walk it. I wasn't sure that I could do it. I started off slow, worked my way to a slow jog, and just let my knee guide me.

I started to think about the women that were fighting breast cancer, and that those that had conquered the disease did so step by step. Before I knew it, I had completed the first 2 miles! With tears in my eyes, I kept going. I could do this! I could really do this!

I had to give myself a couple of pep talks in the last 1+ miles. Only 0.8 miles to go . . . only 1/2 a mile to go . . . and finally, the last 0.1 miles! I finished my first (walking) 5K in 79:30, AND burned approximately 364 calories!
