AARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH AGAIN!!!!

Tuesday, October 06, 2009

I'm going nuts!! Okay, I've always been nuts. So I'm going nuttier. I've been riding the the exercise bike and weight training but instead of losing weight I've gained it!! Actually, the scale and tape measure are contradicting each other and its driving me insane(r)!! Tape measure says I've lost 2 inches around the waist...BUT the scale says I've gained (Are you ready for this?) 13 lbs!!!! WTH is going on??!!??
Okay, enough venting. I'm not going to let this keep me down. I am going to forge ahead and do my best to send those lbs packing!! LETS DO THIS!!!

Oh, I know the feeling!!! This happened to me just three weeks ago. It is just a number...weigh again tomorrow...My weight gain was 7 lbs and the following day it was GONE. I checked the batteries in my scale...weighed myself again, and again, and again....but it said what it said.

I live by my measurements! Mainly, because the scale is not my friend. The inches you have lost is worth far more than that number on the scale!!!! Muscle weighs more that fat...and you do work out alot on your bicycle :)

If you are doing everything right (water, calories, exercise)...keep on doing it!!! Keep yourself hydrated by drinking the water your body needs. Portion control and measurements are a must :) I just went back to measuring everything again instead of trying to eyeball things.

    Enjoy the inches lost :)

Bry, hang in there buddy! Becca gave you good advice. And go look at the photos she posted on her Spark Page, where she describes no weight change but the pictures show how her body changed considerably in about a 4 month period. You are doing GREAT; I wish I had your drive and commitment to exercise. It's still a huge struggle for me. Please don't let any "stinking thinking" invade your head and undermine your efforts! Keep the faith and keep up the good work! emoticon

Okay...the scale is up BUT the tape measure shows a loss of inches. That is a mixed bag but don't let it get you down because you are losing inches. Lost inches = lost body fat!! Maybe it's time to change up your routine and try some different cardio. Now that the weather is cooling off it might be a good time to start walking. Hang in there, Bry! I know it's frustrating but you are making measurable progress and I'm proud of you for hanging tough.

    Way to go!!!

Oh Bry, I know how frustrating it is to gain it back. I lost 70lbs about 7 years ago and gained 55 of it back. Now I'm 9 lbs away from the original 70 lost. I think that this time it is different because I have people like you that are always around to pick me up and help dust it off...

So, don't forget WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER...you are doing awesome and I know you will succeed in your goals. Hang in there, the scale will move the right direction for you soon :0)
