Sleeping Better

Right after my knee injury I found I could not sleep well at night anymore. I had trouble falling asleep, I had trouble staying asleep and I often climbed out of bed in the morning not feeling well rested at all. After the surgery we all thought the pain medication would help me sleep but it didn’t do anything but make me spacey all day. Last week I got the green light to start exercising again and went back to upper body in the gym and just a stationary bike. This week I have continued the gym and have been increasing the time and intensity on the bike. The change was subtle but I realized I was going to bed tired, sleeping through the night and waking up feeling rested. I realized that regular exercise does more for me than even powerful prescription drugs even could. So unless I am sidelined with another injury I am confident exercise will always be a part of my life.

    That is so great! I don't think people realize how precious sleep is and even more so to feel well rested after sleeping. I'm so happy you found the 'key to happiness'. I'd say you've found a great reason to keep working out.
