I am always surprised when I see how many days have passed since I made an entry to my blog.
Today I am making another 'walking' entry. AGAIN, I am working to be more consistent about walking. Yesterday was the start of a new month and as usual, I made the decision to walk regularly. That was good. It was a pleasant day and I walked for about 50 minutes.
I am working on two goals. Dr. Oz recommends that we walk 30 minutes every day and I joined a challenge to walk across Louisiana. To do that I need to walk an average of 8468 steps every day.
And so we come to day two. Hubby and I were gone most of the day doing errands in the city. It was approx. 4:30 when we got back home. I was tired.
I wanted to sit in front of the computer and read e-mail.
I am pleased to say that I listened to the part of my brain that was telling me that I could not start to slack off on the second day of my latest endeavour and I left the house. (Sometimes that is the hardest part of the whole exercise.)
Yesterday's walk was not quite long enough to register the desired number of steps so I added some more streets. By the time I got back home, I had been walking for an hour and my pedometer was registering over 9000 steps.
I realize that I have to do this again 29 more days this month but for now I am enjoying the fact that I have walked two days in a row. I plan to build on that success - one day at a time.
