Swimming with French verbs

Friday, July 31, 2009

As I was swimming up and down my pool I started to feel a bit bored and like it was a bit of a chore. Day in day out, up and down and back again. Hubby sits nearby but he is reading a book. The thing with swimming is that you cant take your ipod in, I have tried tucking it under my hat but hubby says it will get wet and be ruined. I cant read a book as it would get wet and as for taking the tele in with me, that is a big NO NO!!

Then I decided to combine my exercise with another necessity, learning French. Out loud, and much to my husbands annoyance I started conjugating the verbs vaincre and convaincre. Very important words to me right now as I am trying to vaincre (vanquish) negativity from my life and also convaincre (convince) myself that I will lose weight. I kept up the good work for 40 minutes and guess what. I have lost another 2 lbs since Monday.

From now on it will be French verbs and swimming that keeps me fit and entertained.
