i think it's really difficult to stay motivated when well-meaning folks tell me things like, "you can just get weight loss surgery," "you can skip logging your calories just this once," or "you don't have to exercise." those things might be OK for others, but i am trying to learn a healthy lifestyle and that takes practice, practice, practice. that means i have to closely monitor what i am eating and i have to do activities that burn calories and strengthen my muscles. if i don't do it every day, how can i make it a habit? i'm not on a diet, this isn't a temporary quick-fix. i'm doing this for life.
i'm really excited that i joined sparkpeople yesterday after seeing a segment about it on ET. the community here seems really nice and motivated, and it seems like they share in my goals!
