Grateful for... GADGETS!
Wednesday, May 20, 2009
Hi All!
I think that 2.5 of you are interested in hearing about my experiment today (the 0.5 is my husband, who is not a subscriber to the site).
The Punchline: I wore my pedometer today as I ran on the elliptical trainer.
The Reality: I am a doughhead. I looked; it didn't register. I looked again; it didn't register. I stopped to clean the tracks (a very annoying squeak; I swear, I'm the only one that ever wipes the tracks) and I noticed that I had 19 minutes of activity.
WHAT?!
Well, duh. I had it set to the AEROBIC screen, meaning 60 steps per minute (minimum) sustained for 10 minutes (minimum). In other words, I looked too soon!
So today - so far! - I am up to 12700+ steps and I'm happy to see my recorded results. As a bonus: When I stopped to clean the tracks, I "mis-added" and ended up working out for 45 minutes (vs. 35 minutes); SCORE!
I decided, then and there, I am grateful for all the 'little machines' that help me during the day... even if I don't always know how to interpret the results!!
