Analyze and ReBoot!

I am already feeling the stress of a new school semester and the excuses to skip workouts are gathering at the edges of my energy. I'm taking a cue from my work / school and performing a risk analysis. =)
Excuse A: Too tired
Cause: Well, yeah. I'm stressed, my sleep quality is utter drek and the waterbed has decided that I must be menopausal as it is FREEZING COLD lately.
To Mitigate: More pajamas! Keep the afghan over the comforter! Stretch out before rest and try to calm the mind. Eliminate the stress drivers (READ: Do some homework, but not right BEFORE bedtime). More knitting and quality time with the cats should help, too!
Excuse B: Too Busy
Cause: Not saying "No, Thank You," to activities and plans. I need to plan my week more realistically and provide better balance to accomplish what is important.
To Mitigate: Identify what is important, either to my goals or to my happiness. Make those activities the most important. If something comes up that doesn't fit in the scheme of importance, decline (or at least minimize; hey, change takes time!).
Excuse C: Oh, the Pain
Cause: March, the Month of Final Exams, was a bit lazy. April had some excuses for letting the lazies linger. It's halfway through May now and it's well past time to step away from my desk. Sure, there's pain (knees, back, shoulders), but it wasn't THAT bad when I was active. In fact, it's likely worse because I've lost some strength AND gained a few extra pounds.
To Mitigate: Wherever I am is a good place to start! Get busy - at a reasonable pace, not where I left off - and get back on track.
Sheesh, those excuses don't look like much when I stare them down. Maybe, with a bit of reminding, they'll lose their power over me!
