My Heritage

Monday, May 18, 2009

I often talk about my Lebanese/Italian heritage.

I got this from one of my cousins (a REAL cousin, not a Lebanese cousin, Tracy!!), and thought I would share it with all of you.. I hope it brings the same smile to you as it did to me:

mmm... Tabouleh!! I've GOT to make this... it's like... calling to me, " Tabouleh, Tabouleh, Tabouleh!" Now, I'm going to DREAM about it until it HITS my taste buds. Is that guy really Lebanese, or... is he somethin' else ACTING like he is? I just didn't 'get it' I guess. That happens with me a lot though. I can laugh & laugh myself right into a limp noodle on the floor... over 'stuff' no one else 'gets' but have a straight face when everyone else is rollin' on the floor... kinda' makes me feel defective... emoticon

OMG I am cracking up! Although growing up in Dearborn as I did, I had access to lots of authentic Lebanese food I didn't partake... My sis introduced me to it about 15 years ago.

Tabouleh became one of the three foods I craved during my first pregnancy. (along with pickled beets and Starburst candy)I would stop and by a half pound on the way home for work with and eat it, and only that for dinner. I still love it although I prefer it on pita over falafel. Abby loves it, too!
