Dear Heavenly Father, I would like to take this time to say a Prayer, for National Day of Prayer.
Why pray? Because we need spiritual and moral power in our lives, because we face world tasks in which we need the strength and cooperation of God, in the exaltation of great hours and in the bitter depression of our sad and broken days.
"Lord, what a change within us one short hour
Spent in Thy presence will avail to make!
What heavy burdens from our shoulders take;
What parched lands refresh, as with a shower!
We kneel and all around us seems to lower;
We rise, and all the distant and the near
Stands forth in sunny outline, brave and clear!
We kneel, how weak! We rise, how full of
Why, therefore, should we do ourselves this
Or others, that we are not always strong;
That we are ever overborne with care;
That we should ever weak or heartless be,
Anxious or troubled, when with us is prayer,
And joy and strength and courage are with
The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to
4 I thank my God, making mention of you always in my prayers,
5 hearing of your love and faith which you have toward the Lord
Jesus and toward all the saints,
6 that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the
acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you
