OK, I'm blogging. It took me a couple months to get up the nerve to try this new idea and now that I am here I will tell you a little about why I am on SP.

My DG is getting married in August and I decided I want to get in shape for this momentous occasion. I want to be: 5'8", 120 lbs, 21" waist and buy a gorgeous slinky (but high neck!) gown and spike heeled sandals for the event. However, I've already learned on SP we need to set smaller, realistic goals so I will be happy to just get this 4'10" bag of bones to the activities on my own power!

Dress is hanging in the closet; beige floaty chiffon with slip straps but also a high necked, long sleeve jacket which will NOT be removed. I just need to find some nice matching flat shoes.

I was a dedicated exerciser for over thirty years but about eight years ago I sat down and became a couch potato. Now I am gently easing back into a slight bit of movement. My DD found me a great DVD of senior chair exercises which I have been doing. I have a minor balance problem so walking is a problem but I have found I can easily log over 1200 steps (for me, that's a marathon!) in our huge Kroger store. I hope to gradually add more but slowly.
