Once again, I had Scout Pack Meeting duty last night.. Now, my feelings about these events have never been a secret. But, are you ready?? It was actually fun!! The Pack Master, an old Eagle Scout named Otis who is actually a friend, really loves this stuff, so even when I'm grinning and bearing it, I can't help but get a kick out of how much fun he has with all of it, and last night Otis outdid himself. It was called "Relay Night" and consisted of all the different den levels competing against each other in different types of relay races...turkey feather races, marshmallow on spoons, balloons between your legs, t-shirt relays.. But the BEST of all was the competition for the Windbag Cup. It was a tournament in which each den made up a team. Two teams stood around a table, one on each side, and the goal was to be the team that "blew" a ping pong ball off the table on the other team's side.. Hands behind the back, nothing but "wind" being used.. It was fun to watch, fun for the kids.
