How I wish I had some LUCK hehe. I am working to lose the weight. I have been trying to go to the gym at least 3x a week, I have been doing the elliptical(?) for 30 min, and have been doing circuit training as my strength training.
I know I have been absent from spark for a few weeks and I intend to change that. I guess I need challenges to motivate me! I really have to make it work this time. My son is almost 3 1/2 and he is going to be faster than ever this summer. I have to be able to catch up with him and try to be able to go down a slide this year( my fat butt couldn't fit last year! hehe)

    Hi Lu,

    I know what you mean about luck vs work! I've tried to do cardio every day and weights 3x/wk. I slipped up last week, but I'm planning to be back on track this week and following. I find going every day easier -- I only do 20-25 minutes of cardio each time but I alternate between low and high resistance (on the stationary bike) and I can usually burn 220 calories or more each time.

    My trainer told me something interesting about the elliptical -- you have to make sure you aren't bouncing up and down, because if you are, the elliptical does most of the work. You have to try to keep your shoulders on an even level. It's so much harder, though. Ever since she told me about that, I've looked at people doing the elliptical at the gym, and sure enough, most of them are bouncing up and down.

    You're right, it takes work! But every day is a new day ...

    p.s. My 5 year old just said "I'm a doctor, if there's something wrong with your intestines, I can drop a medicine ball on your stomach and make it better." (Yes, he's been going to the gym with us.) :)

    Wouldn't it be nice if Luck played into this weight journey? LOL I'd like to fit on the slides too. Sigh.

    Good Morning, Lu!! I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the colors on your page!! That's a combination that just- mmm-mmm LUSCIOUS!! heehee! I just can't get enough- it's my HAPPY colors, so warm and friendly! I think you're really FUN, and funny, Lu, and you're gonna' blow us away on this challenge- I just 'feel' it. I love 'doing' the circuit training too- it just seems more like I'm not in a chain gang (not that I've ever been in one, LOL!!) in a prison, and more like PLAY. I've never been (shhh...) on an elliptical (don't tell the others- well... if they read this... oh, well) but they sound like they'd be fun. I know Tracy and Tina use it too. Perhaps... when/if I'm ever brave enough to venture out... I'll get to try one.

    Anyway... (a LONG time ago... well in the past months) your little boy looks sooo angelic in the picture- you may recall, I said so, but what a cherub face!!

    Sooo... we're OFF!! LOL!!
