Yeah, getting motivated to work out is something that I've been struggling with for a while. I used to go to the gym every weekday morning at 6 AM!! Now I look back and think, how the heck am I gonna do that again!? What was I doing then that I'm not doing now?!

But the answer to that is obvious. I was at school then and all I had to do to get to the gym was walk or ride my bike two blocks. Now I need to beg someone to drive me since I don't have a car and the nearest gym is over 5 miles away. TT__TT

So now I'm stuck either begging for a ride (which makes me feel TERRIBLE for some reason, so I hardly ever do it...) or doing workout DVDs in my basement, which I haven't been motivated to do since November.

So, yeah. I've got a lot to work on, but I say that we should keep tabs on each other. You said that being on the site helps keep you on track, so now I'm giving you a reason to come back!! I can check to see if you're on track and you can check to see if I'm on track. A positive support system is key.

So lets do it!! I'm going to try to do a workout DVD today and you can get mad at me if I don't! XD

    Good luck!!

Really, the only way I know how to work out is to do it really early, before I have time to be distracted or talk myself out of it. I'm VERY good at doing both those things.

But if you're going to a gym, I realize waking up early might not work as well; plus most people are not really morning-people. I guess my suggestion would be to make it your main priority as much as possible ... even if you have to sacrifice a few other things. Once it becomes an enjoyable habit, you'll be able to loosen up the schedule a little more, because you'll know you'll still go no matter what.

I really do think working out, though painful, boring, or tough at first, does become really enjoyable and empowering for almost everyone. If you have a well-stocked gym, just explore different work-out options until something clicks. I try not to think of it as this tedious chore I have to do to burn off calories, but rather, something that will boost my mood and improve my life, beyond weight loss.
