(MY FIRST BLOG) Trying Once Again, But This Time I'll Win!

Well I joined Spark People in early January with tons of motivation. I joined on January 8th and started going to the gym on January 12th, and I went to the gym every single day until the end of January! Most days I did about an hour of cardio plus strength training at least twice a week. In those 20 days I completed 1185 minutes of cardio and who knows how many minutes of weights (because I didn't count them). Then I had to miss going to the gym on February 3rd because of a prior committment and then I just kinda stopped going altogether. Over the next several months I gained back any weight I had lost plus a few more and got to my highest weight ever - 255 pounds!
Over the month of August, I kinda started being a little more careful about what I was eating and started playing tennis with a friend a couple of days a week and I lost about 6 pounds. Then my aunt asked me if I wanted to join her weight loss team for some 8-week county contest and I said sure and we started at the beginning of September. My starting weight for this was 248.5 pounds. I did pretty good the first two weeks, then not so good the next three weeks and then I started really trying harder these past three weeks and when the contest ended last Sunday I was at 234.5 pounds, so I lost a total of 14 pounds during that which I am very excited about! We find out this weekend how our team compared to the others.
Late last week I decided I would come back to Spark People again because it is such a great motivational and informative site! And I remembered how much help it was to me back in January. So I got back on here around October 30th and was just in time to join some November challenges. (I love challenges!) I joined the November Weight Loss Goal, which I set a goal for myself of 10 pounds this month. I also joined the November Cardio Minutes Challenges, which I set at a moderately low 750 minutes. However, being only 4 days into the month and already having 180 minutes makes me think I should maybe increase my goal a little. I have a treadmill at home (it's old and creaky, but it still works) and I'm going to try to use it every day for at least 10 minutes. Usually once I get on it though, I stay for 20-40 minutes! I've even tried some jogging as well because someday I'd like to be able to run a 5k.
So anyway, I think I'm finished rambling on and on for right now. I'm just so excited right now and am hoping to meet or exceed both of my challenge goals this month and set new ones to beat for next month! I'd like to be around 215-220 by New Year's 2009 and hope to be under 200 before I go on my cruise in late March. Actually, forget hoping....I KNOW I'M GOING TO DO IT THIS TIME!
