Phoenix-Sat. Aug. 31, 2008

Saturday, August 30, 2008

Well everyone-here is the "work in progress!" These pictures are NOT touched up!!!! The bottom picture is of Phoenix on the day I brought him home! Look how he slinks like a scared wolf.......You can tell he is unsure and afraid-his eyes were dull, his tail always down, and of course he was filthy!
The top picture is present time! Eyes sparkle and alert! Tail up and look how proud he is standing! That boy has finally gotten that silly sibe smile on his face!
He is full of energy and playful and loving......................
He stands and wags his tail when he sees the other dogs on the other side of the crate but if they get too close to his crate he is very territorial and begins that low growl in his throat.........

He still has about 4 more weeks of rest and restrictions and then the challenge begins with us trying to introduce him to the pack.........

He has had a great week and I can see him getting stronger and stronger with evey day.........

I finally got to put him on heartworm preventative and he would only eat it with peanut butter.................

You can tell his last home didnt bother to introduce him to these little life saving pills!

I sure love this little boy!

PHOENIX IS RISING FROM THE ASHES!!!!!!!

I am so relieved to see you two get to this stage. It has been a long tough battle for both of you. It has got to be exciting to know that the very worst is behind him and that now he can get on with "living." God bless you for all the love, money, and time you have poured into saving this handsome man.

Awwww! He is so beautiful. And what a difference a good home can make! My Farfal was the same way when we got him. He was skin and bones, dull coat, and leary of everyone. Now he is a good weight and nice coat and very friendly with people and the pack.
