A great reminder for all of us.

If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win, but think you can't,
It is almost certain you won't

If you think you'll lose, you're lost
For out of the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will
It's all in the state of mind

If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You've got to think high to rise,
you've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!

That was beautifully written. Thanks for sharing that inspiration.

Personally – when I hear sayings, I understand them in a "superficial" manner at first until it comes naturally from within.. I mean.. I think we're all intelligent (at least most are :))..but it's something else when your mind, body, and spirit truly believe what is invoked here. When there is balance between these three, there’s only happiness emanating from within.

For the longest time, I didn't really understand what it meant when I was told as a young kid - "reach for the stars, and if you fail - at least you're already up there".. I probably butchered the saying.
I may have been doing my best subconsciously…e.g. during exams, etc.. But to be (consciously) "actively" aware of my actions, where thoughts are the actions, is something different. There have been many times I’ve lived a “robotic” life. At times, I don’t even know how I drove home from work.

Recently, I was playing those fun "brain" puzzle games.. and I do have a competitive streak..so I was aiming to beat some of my colleagues at a friendly game.. and I noticed that it was hard to do that.. but when I changed my goal to reach a score WAY beyond my colleagues, I was able to beat them hands down.. the way the mind works is so interesting..

I think the point was that self-confidence comes from this simple phrase.. you do your best..with 100% commitment. it's easy to say, but when you're truly honest with yourself - the journey itself is rewarding.

thanks for posting.. and letting me ramble! ha!
