New Balance Commercials

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

If you're a runner and you haven't already seen the New Balance commercials on television you should check them out. I've never had a commercial "speak" to me like these ones do. At times I definitely feel that my relationship with running is a love/hate one. Ads usually don't have any bearing on what products I buy, but these make me want to run right out and get a pair of New Balance. I am due for a new pair of running shoes like 100 miles ago so maybe I will.

This is a funny, immature story...so I'll share it...cause I can be that way ;)

My sister-in-law, who is 12 years my senior, has worn NB tennis shoes for a long while now. The first time I saw them on her, I thought, "Remember that 'N'...because that is a sign you will be old...if you wear those tennis shoes...".

I guess because she's not 'cool' and I didn't want to be 'old'.

So...I've never wanted to wear the 'N' tennis shoes....but...they have become so much more marketed and I do hear of lots of walkers and orthopedic problems that NB helps with.

Just thought of that when I read your blog....

Those are great! I always wanted to like New Balance shoes but I could never figure out their number system.

I really like the one about breaking up with running and it now showing up everywhere looking good! The other ones didn't really resonate with me, but the breaking up one reminds me of how awful it is to take time off due to an injury.
