Figuring out the site, etc.

So, I'm finally getting a handle of this "SparkPeople" site.
I joined a few teams. I'm hoping the daily challenges one keeps me in check. I have my really good days and my not so good days, as you can tell from my nutrition tracker; I just need a daily goal in mind to keep myself at the right level, I think.
At the moment, aside the weight loss goal, I'd kind of like to make a couple buddies off of this site. I really wish I had people to talk to on a more personal level about things. I think I'd do better if I had someone to catch up with on a near-daily basis, be it in instant messengers, emails... somehow, just to keep the idea fresh and active in my mind. My boyfriend, bless his heart, is even more into excess than myself, and seeing as the majority of my time is spent with him I'd like to be able to get around it without feeling the same temptation as him when we walk by some sweets or want takeout at one a.m.
Anyone care to be my health buddy?
PS - I'm excited, I'm planning a trip to NYC this summer. I'm setting a middle goal (as opposed to my final goal of 150 pounds) to try to get under 200 before then. Hey, if anything, it'll make the insane amount of walking I'll be doing easier, and I'll be able to fit in cuter clothes. If I make it in time for the cartoon museum's art festival I'll need the charisma of a cute girl to get my portfolio looked at, anyhow. ; P
