5 month old Great Grandson, and nearly 11 year old GrandsonMe and my Great Grandson My lunch. Hard boiled egg; mushroom salad; coleslaw; tomato and cucumber; red capsicum; on the side is crispy polenta with added savoury yeast (nutritional yeast) and parmesan. I make that in bulk and when cold, cut it into single serves and freeze, ready to fry in a spray of Rice Bran Oil to crisp when wanted. All up, and including my cup of tea:
Fibre 10gMy great-grandson enjoying his first Easter .... All 6 months of him :-) Be that frog!!!The effects of the Australian Bush Fires in NZ - 2,000k's away - taken at 4p.m. today. 1/2 hr earlier the sky was a deep yellowy orange leaving a real weird glow inside the house and outside the house. We are the middle of summer and it should still have been bright sunlight for another 3-4 hours. Ash has even landed on the Southern Alps (NZ) My Mum said the toilet was smoking. I don't know what I expected.Who said that???? 🤓 😂 Who said that???? 🤓 😂 Given the current world situation, I hope that you find this uplifting ;-)In spite of a lock-down and living by myself, I was still able to have a lovely birthday. I even cooked myself a Turkey Roast to celebrate (physically by myself.) Turkeys are not a common meat in NZ - the price is astronomical, but I managed to get this one just before Xmas on a HUGE price reduction. It was soooo tender and juicy. I made a Cranberry & Orange Gravy to go with it. yummmm. (To go with the Turkey I had tonight :-) A sign of the times. My son sent me this image for my birthday LOL! Today I went down to Auckland (just over an hour away) so I could take my sister out. She is unable to get out by herself and apart from many hospital visits (heaps of outpatients and 5 inpatient admissions so far this year) she hasn't been out since May last year. Anyway, we saw this, so I stopped my car and got a couple photos. It is an Echium. It was swarming with bees. I have always wanted one, but never knew what it was called until tonight - now I know what to look for :-) This is the Echium close up - it was covered in bees but the photo doesn't do it justice for that. Also, the other photo is true to colour. Yesterday while at my sister's I went upstairs to my niece and her hubby. I got a cuddle of his Bearded Dragon :-) This is her having a feed. I asked my family if I should swap out my bubble-wrap on some windows and replace with loo paper :-) My new neighbour brought over some freshly caught Blue Maomao (fish) yesterday evening, so I had that for dinner tonight - sprinkled in Lemon Pepper, plus a lemon infused stir-fry (Red Onion, Celery, Carrot, Broccoli, Cauli and red and green Capsicum) and a home-made Hash Brown made with low carb potatoes and with some Parmesan and parsley in it. Tonight's sunset from the dining room windowForget the snow - this is Xmas our way :-) I hope this comes out that you can read it in it's entirety. It's mind-blowing. I noticed the flower on my cacti yesterday. Not sure if the main focus of the photo is of that or the cobweb LOL! I had a lovely visit and ride today. My old '59 Chev Bel Air, which I sold to late hubby's nephew a while after hubby died. This is the '39 Chev Master Deluxe that I sold nephew, also, so they are both in the family still, and being driven as they were meant, not hidden. (as nephew has put on the side window :-) )I had an up-close encounter with a Californian Quail, today. It was outside my house. I wondered what the noise was because it didn't seem to be shifting so went to have a look, and was greeted by this. It wasn't bothered by my being there and allowed me to stand about 2-3 feet from it. At one time it even walked toward me. The photo isn't very good, but it is hard to get a shot of a bird that keeps moving, especially when the person with the camera has Essential Tremors LOL! Wild Ginger Plants (weeds) are growing in my garden. I MUST get them removed or they will choke one of my guavas shrubs (I love my fruit) and spread. My lunch today. Ham, Hard Boiled Egg, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Red and Green Grapes, Apricot, Nectarine and Plum. I also had a few nuts to finish. It pays to read instructions :-) Neighbour's flowers hanging over the walk-way - photo taken this a.m. on a lovely Autumn day's walk. hahahaweek's worth of fresh fruit/veges to go with the frozen ones that I have at home. All for just me:-)My first cuddle of my first great-grandchild, a dear little boy called Tobias Jasper day 500 of my streak for "Log in and spin the SparkPoints wheel" earned 9/13/2017day 450 of my streak for "Track food or water" earned 8/24/2017day 425 of my streak for "Track food or water" earned 7/30/2017day 400 of my streak for "Track food or water" earned 7/5/2017day 425 of my streak for "Log in and spin the SparkPoints wheel" earned 6/30/2017day 375 of my streak for "Track food or water" earned 6/10/2017- Four years ago today my Hubby went to Hot Rod Heaven.
