I am a 40 something year old mother of 3. I have two jobs, 3 cats, and a husband with a busy job. When I was a teenager, I ate whatever I wanted. I wish I had the body now that I thought was fat way back then. During college, I started gaining weight. When I was in my 20's, I lost weight several times...low fat diets, weight watchers, but the weight always came back. Add kids, age, and a stressful life, it's doubly hard now.

I've come to accept that I have to monitor what I eat. I'm realistic enough that I know that I can't always avoid eating crap. But, I can avoid how much I eat. My body only "needs" a certain amount of food. No need to overfill the gas tank. Just like at the gas station, that excess doesn't do any good. But, instead of running out onto the ground, excess food hangs around and causes problems.

My goal is to lose 85 pounds and keep it off. One of my smaller goals is to get below 170. Since my second baby, that seems to be an issue for me. My body likes to be stuck there.
