Update: January 2014
Life is a journey, I have always said this. My journey this year includes a few simple goals. I say simple, but I don't really mean it. Play in Vegas this year (I couldn't play last year). Get back to my pre injury weight (almost there) and maintain it. And last but certainly not least, figure out my life. Oh, that's all, lol. Join me, follow me, let me follow you. Please be a part of my journey :)

Today (July 2012) I am very close to my goal weight and maintaining, yay me!

Whatever curve ball life throws at you, SparkPeople is a great place to be! I am having ACL (knee) surgery in a week and with the help of my Spriends, I will hit this one out of the ball park!

Came to Spark in 2011, just to lose a few pounds and be proactive about my health. I learned to eat healthier, try new activities and lean on new friends for support.

Fitness Minutes: 15,701

My Goals:
Currently I have a soccer tournament in Vegas I am trying to get ready for. I want to lose a few holiday pounds to get my speed back :) I rocked this tournament....next...
Run first 5k in May 2012: DONE!
Have surgery and recover from torn ACL (June/July 2012)...hoping to get back on the field in Spring 2013!


My Program:
Running (going slow here, but progressing)
Strength training: 3-4 times per week
Tracking all food and being mindful of portions



Personal Information:
I am a confident strong woman.
I am a wife, a mother, a college professor, a soccer player.
I have good days and bad, the trick is to keep moving even when the bad derails us.


Other Information:
I am here to stay on track, to prevent my emotional eating from adding pounds and grief to my life.
I will always respond to spark mail :)

    It is all about to start again for me... so I know you must be gearing up (or there already) too! I miss you and will be in touch soon. I made some bad choices about when to travel this year, and doing it all so late has left me scrambling to get prepped for the semester!     Not doing that good! I haven't changes my ticker - it should read 147! I keep hoping to get down to it instead of changing it. I am actually on holidays at a camp site for three weeks so I am hoping not to gain. At least I should get in exercise to counteract any extra food! My exercise hasn't been great lately and it shows!

    I am still running when I can. I try for 5k twice a week. I just did one this evening. It felt hard. For some reason, sometimes are easier than others!!

    I am also doing a kettlebell workout 3 times per week. It is helpful as it incorporates strength and cardio. With kids and work and after school activities, my time is precious so I aim for things that don't take up too much time!!

    And I try for ten minutes skipping on my other two days!! This is my new fitness challenge and this is just my second week into it but feeling good so far. I hope to join the maintenance team VERY soon!!
