Hi everybody!

I'm back from the Cinci Convention. All hyped up and ready to start anew. Start? Is anybody really surprised? Yes, I quit for a long while. The good news is I didn't gain it all back! I am still 6.6 lbs under my starting weight. I'll take it!!! Lol!

The convention was awesome. About 250 in attendance. I was shocked! I thought there would be a cpl thousand! I can't wait til the next one! They practically paid us to go with all the perks. We stayed in a gorgeous suite along the OH River. We were on the 8th floor with balconies on the interior on each floor and wonderful city view from our rooms. Plants and a macaw and fountains were in the main lobby on the 1st floor. Glass elevators, an appetizer get together and a wonderful made to order omelet and breakfast area were also included. We were really made to feel special.

I met Sparkguy and Coach Nicole and Chef Meg and other staff. They were all teriffic. We received a nice goodie bag w a special Cinci SP Convention tee shirt, key chain, pen, notebook, magnet along with the canvas bag. Also included were samples of udderly soft lotion, popchips, trail mix and cranberry raisinet treats. We received a folder w agenda, maps, coupons and I forget what else. I didn't run into anyone I already knew, but we received 16 SparkYourLife Goodie Cards to pass out w our user name on it to make more connections. I met top notch ppl. (Of course we all knew That SP ppl were just that!)

We observed a cooking demonstration by Chef Meg with a recipe card for Blueberry Flax Seed Muffins and plenty of samples. Coach Nicole led us in a yoga stretch session which felt so nice! Sparkguy told us his and the site's story. Very funny! He is very personable. He also told us of a new book entitled The Spark with a more in depth explanation of the four stages and personal stories which will be out in November (?). You may pre-order it here, I think. It was 42 on Amazon's best seller list that day and it hasn't even been released! It's now #8! Chris may be promoting the book on a very popular TV talk show very soon. The largest audience day time talk show which we promised not to tell. She is a billionaire and is of color! I didn't tell!!!

We were taught The Perfect Plate Planner and were given quizes to determine our eating personalities and eating styles. We also learned of The Four Mindful Bites concept.

It was awesome!!!

I can't wait to go again!

    It's December already; can you believe it? November and December are the busiest months for me (besides July and August and September!) It seems the Holidays bring our friends and families closer and we spend more time visiting, and entertaining during these two months than any others; lots of Holiday preparation going too!

    I find that I don't often get an opportunity to get around to Sparkpeople as much, but I try to stay focused as much as possible. Sometimes my good friend Will Power (who is always a welcome guest) doesn't show up until 'after' dinner, but I'm working on that as well.

    I hope things are going well for you and you don't find yourself too busy to take care of yourself. You are the most important person in your life!

    Hi again!

    I must apologize for neglecting you these last few months...I've been really slack this summer and now into fall...oh I've been mindful of my food intake...but I have to admit that I haven't been restricting myself the way I should have been. Now to pay the piper! Oy! But I must say that the time has passed quickly and I now find it too cold to do too much outside (I'm a wimp) so I should have more time for sparkpeople.

    I seen this tip recently in some publication and thought it noteworthy to share and try:

    Add this to your rice and curb your appetite all day long...

    Shrink your appetite, your calorie intake, and your pants size with just one little addition to your rice: vegetables.

    In a recent study of normal-weight people, mixing vegetables into a plain rice dish at lunch helped people feel fuller for the rest of the day. So much so that they ate way fewer calories at dinner than the folks who had their rice straight up.
