This is me at my heaviest. I'm ashamed of the real number, though.

I lost 145 pounds in a year!

Yes, it was a by-product of a Sleeve Gastrectomy but that was only one tool in my box. It's taken dedication to moving - not necessarily an exercise routine, but daily movement, it's taken dedication to watching what I eat - not a diet, not obsessively counting calories and denying my favorite foods, but an awareness of my choices and focusing on what I NEED TO GET rather than what I CAN'T HAVE.

Many may say I "cheated" but how can you cheat on making yourself better? No matter what path you take as long as you're making the journey and working toward the final goal of a healthier you there is no cheat! This is not a competition or a race to see who can get the farthest, the fastest by some pre-determined route - this is a personal journey where you set the starting point, the route and the finish line!

For me, I intend to continue making this a lifelong path but that doesn't mean that everyone else has to follow mine, or meet my goals, they may not be right for you. But I'm ready, willing and able to watch you on your path, to help you when you stumble and encourage you when you tire, to check on you when you seem to be veering away from the path you say you want to stay on. I hope you'll do the same for me!
