3/5/10 - It finally happened, I hit the dreaded plateau, stayed the same as last week and did not lose any weight for the entire week. With what I was losing, I know it had to happen eventually, but it is discouraging. I'll just have to try a little harder at the gym.

2/28/10 - Finally got back to the gym. I was able to do all my lifting at the same weights and increased the incline on the treadmill.

2/26/10 - Weigh in day and I lost another 1.5 pounds. Having been sick and not going to the gym regularly, I'll take it! I did spend 2 and a half hours getting the snow off my driveway and patio. I just love the Northeast! Hey, calories burned are calories burned, but somehow the gym is more fun!

2/19/10 - Still feelling a little under the weather but I am getting a lot better. I still haven't gone to the gym, but I am going to try today.

I lost another 3.5 pounds at my weigh in today which makes me very happy since I haven't been working out. That's 16 pounds since I've been back and I feel I can indeed make my goal this time.

2/15/10 - Feeling a little better today. Still feel like there are a ton of bricks on my chest, but not coughing quite as much. If I feel up to it, I will try the gym tomorrow.

2/11/10 - Finally broke down and went to the doctor. It seems I have a bad case of bronchitis. There is really nothing I can do other than keep taking the over the counter stuff I have been taking. At least the lung xrays were clear.

2/10/10 - Still sick and distressed about not getting to the gym. I know I can't go, but it bothers me just the same.

2/8/10 - Sick as can be today. The cold finally took hold and knocked me on my butt! As soon as my head hits the pillow, I start coughing my lungs up. I'm going to try to sleep in a chair tonight and see if that helps.

The good news is that I am not hungry, but the bad news is there is no way I can get to the gym. If it doesn't break tomorrow, I will actually go to the doctor. There must be some kind of man rule against that, sort of like asking directions!

2/5/10 - Weigh in day today, down four pounds! The good thing is that I am finally below my starting weight from January of 2008 when we first started. Now I feel I can make progress losing what I gained in the past year or so when we were away from Spark People.

1/31/10 - Another gym day and I did a cardio workout and full weight circuit. My wife and I did our cooking for the week to keep us on track. We seem to do much better when we have healthy foods available rather than eat on the fly. Entering week three since returning and we are more determined than ever!

1/29/10 - Today was weigh in day and I lost 2.5 pounds for a loss of 6 poungs since we started back two weeks ago. I would be thrilled to lose at a 2 pounds a week pace, but I know that is not possible, so I'm hoping to lose a little more each week in the beginning..

Went to the gym and did a total workout. Felt a little weak and tired, but did not talk myself out of it.

1/26/10 - Today was gym day. I was able to go later in the day and was able to do a full workout, which for me is cardio, strength training and stretching. Of course calling what I do stretching is a stretch. Sorry about that!

Tomorrow is school again so other than the stairs, there won't be too much excercise. We have our faculty luncheon tomorrow and that is always tought to stay legal. Hopefully, there will be some salads and some lean choices. Avoiding the great desserts will be a challenge.

1/25/10 - Starting week two since returning. Teaching today so not too much excercise other than going up and down the stairs at school.

Tomorrow will be a full day at the gym doing cardio and weights. Shooting for a good loss for my second weigh in this Friday.

1/22/10 - First weigh in and I lost 3.5 pounds. I guess I'm pretty happy with that, but I was kind of hoping for that first week water loss, even though I know it's not a real loss.

Today will be a cardio day at the gym. I'll do the treadmill again and maybe the bike. I'd like to get those muscles in shape before the weather breaks and we can ride our bikes outside. We have a beautiful waterfront trail that is great for bikes and it is a two mile circut, perfect for logging your miles.

1/21/10 - Another day at the gym. I was able to go a little faster on the treadmill and did a full weight workout. Hopefully, I will be able to go every day except for the two days I teach, Mondays and Wednesdays.

Tomorrow will be my first weigh in and will be the first step in reaching my goal.

1/19/10 - Today's update. My wife and I joined a 24 hour fitness center less than 10 minutes from our house. The other gym was over 20 minutes away and it could get worse according to traffic. We went this evening and I think it's going to work out great (sorry for the pun). I did my first cardio and lifting since I don't know when, but it feels good to be back on track!

Well, I'm back after about a year and a half gone. My wife and I have been very successful here, but unfortunately a bunch of medical problems cropped up for the entire family. This led to gaining all my weight back and then some.

I hope with the help of my Spark Friends to be successful again in my weight loss goal.

My Goals:
I am a 63 year old male and I want to lose over 100 pounds. My wife and I have been members since 1/4/08, although we were away for a while. I want to have a healthier lifestyle and also lower my blood pressure.

My Program:
We have joined a gym and do cardio and Nautilus usually about three times per week. We are looking at this as a lifestyle rather than a diet.

Personal Information:
My wife and I live in upstate New York and I am a cancer survivor. I was detected early and everything is fine. I figure I dodged one bullet, maybe I'd better lose some weight and get healthier before another comes my way.

Other Information:
I have been on diets my whole life. I have lost as much as 86 pounds on one diet, only to gain it back. I hope with the support of SP, history will not repeat itself.
