Back on Spark after five years away - not much has changed! A lot of the same great people inspiring other people.
I'm back in my hometown of Portland, Oregon, after living on the east coast and I'm generally loving life.
My weight has edged up in the last few years, up to almost 200 pounds. At 6' 2" this wouldn't bother me if I had gained it as muscle, but alas.
The last few weeks I've spent my mornings at the gym, running on the treadmill, and focusing on nutrition. So far so good, and a few pounds have dropped already. When I get to 175 I will start working on weight training.

Fitness Minutes: 409

My Goals:
I'm going to be well on my way to being in the best shape of my life by the time I'm 41. I'd like to burn a little fat, and develop more muscle tone. I'm going to make my Program a daily habit, instead of losing my motivation and dropping it for weeks or months at a time

My Program:
I wake up at 4:30, drink a glass of water (not coffee!) and head out for a moderately difficult 8 mile bike ride, or a run.
On alternate days I weight train for 30-45 minutes a day.
This program has worked for me in the past, and I'm trying to get motivated to do it again.
I don't have a set plan for maintaing a healthy diet. I'm hoping this site will also help me along that path.

I'm a licensed Massage Therapist, holding licenses in both Oregon and Pennsylvania. I'm always amazed by the human body. We're all so very simliar, yet vastly different!
I'm happiest outdoors. I love to hike, bike, swim, garden, work, and relax outside.
I play guitar, and like to sing.
I have a partner and we have two dogs that I suspect were princesses in a previous life.
