Reminder to self and others: fitness does not always equal perfect washboard abs.

“Everything has a gestation period, a time period that must pass before things will come into form. If you plant a carrot seed, it takes about seven weeks for the sprout to make its above-dirt entrance. Bamboo, which can grow up to thirteen feet in as little as one week, takes up to seven years to break through the surface of the ground. But for seven long years it looks like absolutely nothing’s happening. Now that takes some commitment.”
James Arthur Ray

My daughter is half-way through high school, just learning to drive. I guess I could have gone "out" with her, just not "out for drinks and bar-hopping"
with her! And I don't drink anymore. I guess I haven't' bothered to try to find something to replace that activity with. I don't go out to eat any more often. I go to more concerts, though. Maybe they have taken the place of "going out."

Now that I think about it, my "going out" days were dwindling before I quit drinking. The crowds we hung out with were more likely to stay at one of our homes since we invariably had our kids with us. Just as much fun, way more comfortable, and quite a bit cheaper!

I hope the HRM and the computer interface are working for you now, but mostly I hope that all your hard work is showing up as weight loss!

I'm always so grateful to be lower than what I was, no matter how long ago the last pound lost was, that I don't mind being stuck too much. I see that my recent weight loss has only been about a pound every two weeks. That sounds slow now, but I am happy it isn't going the other way. Be happy for every loving movement we do and every nutritious morsel we feed our bodies, right?
