My Goals:
Get rid of my accumulated gut. It is a burden in every way. See the other side of 200. Vastly extend my daily walking distance. Be able to get down and up off the floor with ease. Have my tight size 38 pants hang on my hips without a belt instead of looking like a rope on a gunny sack.

My Program:
Goals. Walk every day. Use resistance bands every day. Pretty much eliminate highly processed foods and dessert-like items from my eating. I am following the GOLO diet with my bride. She has a difficult time losing weight, Me, not so much.

Personal Information:
I live in $ilicon Valley, I am 78, married to my bride of 50 years, and we have 2 daughters who are 1996 Atlanta Olympic Gold Medalists in Synchronized Swimming. They are both still in phenomenal condition. They have given us 5 lovely grandchildren.

Other Information:
Retired at 73 after working a great job 49 years for the same company.
I have no hobbies. I enjoy a good laugh, a good meal and fellowship.

I started off my current effort in a funny ha-ha way. I logged in to set my weight goals, and I got a "Welcome back!"and my data was already filled out!?? And it was accurate. Then I noticed the goals date. It was exactly three years earlier when I had first logged into Spark People through my company web site. I have lost about 10 pounds in the last eight weeks, mainly by food tracking (an eye opener!), regular walking, stopping eating when I even start to feel full, and skipping most desserts. Now I am determined to "work" to achieve weight and fitness goals so I can "go out in style" and be a blessing to those around me, especially my family. My wife said that my goals from 1999 are my "Bucket List."
