Hi, I am a 73 year old grandmother of 7, live in Valdosta , Ga. looking to get, as well as give support & motivation & meet new friends that have the same

"Interested vs. Committed":

If you''re "interested" in losing weight...

... You stick with it only until something better comes along (such as doughnuts)
... How you feel determines your outcome. If you don''t ''feel like it'', you stop your efforts.
... You need to see results. When the scale doesn''t move, you lose your motivation.
... You blame everything else (people, travel, circumstances) for your struggles with staying on program.
... Whenever you face challenges in life, you give up and plan you''ll start your program again tomorrow.

~~HOWEVER:

If you''re "committed" to losing weight...


... Nothing stops your efforts. You stick with your program, "no matter what."
... Emotions don''t control your actions. You stay on track even when you don''t feel like it.
... Your motivation isn''t linked to the scale. You assume that if you stay motivated and work hard, you''ll eventually see results.
... You don''t depend on other people for your success. You know it''s up to you, not them.
... A bad day or a lot of challenges don''t affect your efforts. You keep going in spite of it.

My Goals:
My first goal is to be HEALTHY. If I am healthy, the rest of my goals will follow

feel better about my self image

have more energy

eliminate the use of insulin (I have done it before)

Buy my clothes in a smaller size

what else? I think that I can think of a lot more down the line...I will add them as I think of them.



My Program:
I know how to do it! I just need to do it...the help of my fellow spark members are a big part of the whole picture. In the past , I found that support was such a big part of that picture. Motivation is a very big step! And I feel this is the place to get it.

Exercise
drinking my water
loving myself
posting on the boards
for support
These are all of the things that I will strive to do to reach my goals

I am married ( 55 years) to a wonderful man that I am still in love with. We have 3 great children that gave us 7 beautiful grandchildren...
Hubby is semi retired
We are both animal lovers. We have 1 dog and 1 cat that keep us entertained.

    How are you? Taking good care of your health?

    I just made myself a mocha! I went shopping today with friends to Hobby Lobby. My back hurt like heck. My face was all sweaty underneath my mask. I needed a cool drink. They bought 2 buggies of craft supplies. I bought a bottle of essential oil and that was it! I need a mocha to rejuvenate me! emoticon
