Hi! I call myself "Summertime Jen" because I seem to become more motivated in the summertime! I know I can be successful, eat healthier, and become more active. I feel very positive in the summer, and would like to be this way all the time!

I decided to join SparkPeople because I am much more
successful when I share the experience with others. I can honestly say that this website changed my life. I haven't lost tons of weight, but I can focus, and refocus with the tools and support, and know that someone will reply when I have a question or just need to vent.

Since joining, I have taken a far-off wish, made it a goal, and accomplished it twice! My 1st was Trapeze School, and my most recent was a Triathlon. Next, I want to become more fit, so I can do these again, and improve!

It's great that my clothes are starting to fit better, but my accomplishments have given me much more in the way of self-confidence. Thank you SparkPeople!

About the photos - the trapeze was my "Stage 1" inspirational picture, now it is my 1st milestone. The triathlon was my next inspiration, and I can check that off too. The last photo is of me with my family - I'm always the one hiding behind the kids. I don't do that anymore. I'm proud of myself, and who I've become, and even if my body isn't done yet, the photos will be a good record of my improvements as time goes on!

Run 5K non-stop, at less than 10:00 minute pace

Bike ride 10mi or more, with average speed 17mph

Rock-wall course (real one)

Olympic length Triathlon

My Program:
Now - nothing yet.

Was -
Watching my calories, fat, fiber, protein. Cutting out most pre-packaged/processed foods. Trying to push my healthier food into my family's diet too.

Exercise - Strength 2-3 days/week, Cardio (swim/bike/run) 4-5 days per week.
Using some videos - yay free on-demand!!
Getting outdoors as much as possible.
Keeping track of speed/distances.

Personal Information:
I'm a 40-something, married engineer with 2 teenaged girls, living on Long Island.

A bit of a compulsive eater, compulsive shopper, and hoarder.

I enjoy music, readiing, and the outdoors, but haven't made these my focus in a while.

Other Information:
I love "Biggest Loser" and I wish Bob or Jillian would show up on my doorstep & get me going.

    Well hello there stranger. Thanks for thinking of me for the BL casting call. I would have done it in the past but there really is no one else to take care of the kids of I did get picked.

    I'm so sick of this snow and the cold. Looking forward to actually using the hottub that we bought with the house. (We didn't last year)And getting to the beach again. I am going to Cabo San Lucas in May. It's for a friend of a friend's wedding. Just me, no wife and kids and I can't wait. I need to get back to the grind and lose this weight again.

    Hey there, the weather is good and should be all weekend. Glad to see you back around. I really need to get back on track myself. With so much going on, it's tough, my entire schedule has been off track for weeks now and this week and next is totally off track. Trying to hang in there though.
