I am a mom of 4 boys. When I first started this journey, I was a mom of 3 pretty wild boys with the oldest being 10 & the youngest being 8. And now, here I am a few years later.. with 4 boys.. and now my oldest is 14 & my youngest just turned a year.

What a rollercoaster this has been! I was just starting to get back into my pre-baby jeans when I found out I did not have the flu, but was indeed, pregnant! Not something we had planned on, since our last baby was born 11 years prior. Quite the surprise, but what they say is so true.. being a "later in life" parent is so much different than when you do it young.. and it's such a huge blessing, of course. But, let's be realistic, having 1 baby to chase after is so much nicer than 3 naughty little puppies (which is what I called the older boys since they were always into something when they were younger!) ha ha.

I am a daycare owner. I work 16 hours a day, 5 days a week. Working 90 hours a week can really make a person tired, but I have really been trying to get back into my pre-pre baby clothes once again. I also work with a crisis nursery in town & help take care of children in bad situtions (homeless, poverty, abuse etc). where their parents have given temp. care up of them as sometimes, the only alernative they have.

I love my job. It pays the bills & keeps me at home with my own kids. But, the days are long. I won't lie about that.

I am trying to work out at least 20 minutes, 5 days a week. I am also following the SP meal suggestions (almost always completely) and hope to complete my goal by the end of the Summer, 2013. If I do, I'm taking the family to Maine to celebrate with mounds of fresh caught lobster & shrimp & crabs &* crawfish and and and....

Since having our youngest son., I"ve lost 56 pounds. I really want to lose 24 more for an even 80.
We will see how this story ends....

Hi, thanks for the comment on my TMI blog :)

I am 47, so perimenopause could well be what's going on. However, I wouldn't think so for you. Sure, it's possible, but it's more likely that things are out of whack from pregnancy, imho. (Note: I am so not a medical professional!)

One thing you might want to consider is your thyroid. I'm 99% sure that pregnancy instigated my rather severe thyroid problems. Are you having any other symptoms of hormonal imbalance? Excessive hair loss (on your head)? Excessive hair grown (where you do NOT want it!)? Skin tags? Dark patches of skin? Extreme tiredness? Hot flashes (yes, caused by hyperthyroid, not just menopause!)? Feeling cold when other people aren't? Increased or decreased transit time of food through your system? Shaking hands? Thyroid problems are easy to test for, but some doctors don't want to bother because they sometimes think we are looking for something to blame our weight problems on. (For what it's worth, my disease should make me super skinny. It has not done so. Boo.)

    Good luck figuring things out!
