Thanks for commenting on my blog! I calibrated my pedometer based on the length of my stride, as recommended in the instructions. I haven't calibrated my Spark, but I can based on a distance measured by my car or a GPS device. I deleted the app I was using in my iPhone because it ate up the battery like crazy. I may have to try it again, even temporarily, just to see how it compares. And I, too, love how I can use my devices to record steps and miles while I am working.

    Hi Toni,

I saw your comment on the Spark Solution thread that you are going to an Italian restaurant this weekend. I had the same dilemma on Day 4! See if any of these tips help:

    1. Decide what you're ordering before you arrive and then only look at that part of the menu. I knew I wanted a protein and veggies so I hunted down grilled salmon and then shut the menu.

    2. Put the bread basket as far away as you can.

    3. Indulge in a guilt-free drink that you normally wouldn't get (but that won't spoil your calorie-counter), like coffee, diet soda, or one glass of wine.

    4. If the portion is huge, get a box right away and pack up half. Going out after dinner? Have a cooler in your car for leftovers.

Hope this helps! I'm going out tomorrow night and will be heeding my own advice. :)

I've added you as a SP friend! I feel your pain after your having read the book - although I haven't received mine yet.

BTW, you look GREAT in your photos!

I know that when you're looking for weight loss, it doesn't matter what people say about how you look, but rather to lose the weight. I understand. Just sayin' ... wanted you to know how you appear to me!

If the book is going to require me to buy a huge shopping list of stuff, I'm screwed - don't have the money, the time or the storage space.

Anyway, just wanted to connect with you!

    Blessings,

Thanks for responding to my blog. I started to watch it and haven't finished. As I have my ipad with me I can finish. Great idea! It sure seems easier not to have the normal stresses around me. I work long hours and have many challenges with really horrible food being available. I'm cherishing these 2 weeks and hope it will give me strength when I return to work. emoticon
