First off, thanks for stopping by my Spark Page! I am in awe of the individuals here on Spark People making changes in their lives every day! You are AWESOME! I'm Erin, a 30 something health seeker with a chocolate problem. I live with my awesome husband, Austin, our twin boys and our dogs Lumi and Duncan. I have Lupus, but it is just a small part of my life. ---You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It's called perseverance. - Lee Iacocca--- ---Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice. - Dr. Wayne Dyer--- ----1/2019 - Hey everyone! It's been awhile! I've been battling some new health issues the past year and am here to recoup some love for my body and myself. I need to make eating healthier a priority and incorporate some gentle exercise back into my daily routine. I hope to meet some new friends and gain some great insight along the way. ----1/28/16 - Three years later and I'm back again! This time after having twin boys in April 2015. They are the light of my life and keep me busy! I want to set a great example to them of how to be healthy. ----4/7/13 - I am getting married in June and trying to get as toned as I can before the big day comes. Still dealing with Lupus issues, but am feeling better (knock on wood). I feel pretty healthy and am making good choices to be that way. I have been blogging at for awhile now, so feel free to check it out! I have just 16 pounds to get to my goal weight! ----7/17/12 - This has been a long, long journey! Still on medications that are making it difficult to lose weight, and easy to GAIN. I'm up to 170 lbs and trying to keep it off, and lose little by little. Would love to see the 150's again!! ----10/31/11 - Life is good. :) Down to 153 lbs right now and the scale is still moving dooown. Just trying to eat right, get lots of sleep and exercise when I can!! ----2/22/11 - February 10th I was diagnosed with Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). At this time my energy levels are pretty low, so I'm slowly trying to just eat healthily and exercise more often. I gained weight over the winter due to stress eating (bleh!) and not having as much energy to exercise. I am hoping to just control my symptoms and feel healthier. ----06/25/10 - Wow, I'm here on SP at 162 pounds! I never DREAMED I could get here. I'm actually below my original goals of 170 and then 165. This has truly been an eye opening journey. I am learning to really appreciate my body and what it can do. I really do feel like a different person in body and in spirit. I can run a 5k, I am wearing 4-5 sizes smaller than I was, I am truly, truly a healthier person. ----01/21/10 - Back at it! And have been for a couple weeks. I gained a few pounds over the holidays, but it could have been a lot worse. I know I can do it! I want to see 70 pounds gone! I need to get some new before and after pictures. :) I still don't have a computer so I am only able to really get on SP a couple times a week at work. I am able to add my food and cardio through the web on my cell phone but it is a pain in the butt and doesn't always work correctly. I SHOULD have a new computer here in the next couple weeks. It has been too long! I can't wait to be back on SP all the time! I've missed it so much. ----08/31/09 - Well, I had a crazy summer. I still managed to lose a little bit of weight, which is totally amazing considering the amount of stress I have been under. For those who don't know I was with my mom during a horrible tractor accident and helped her through her recovery (she still is recovering but is doing much better). I was then in a car accident and am still undergoing physical therapy a month and a half later. So, I'm still dealing with that. I am down to 177 pounds from my all time high of 236 pounds. 59 pounds gone in total! This is crazy for me to think about. I can't imagine I ever weighed that much. I DO feel so much healthier, but would like to lose about 12 more pounds and continue to tone. I am wearing a size 12 and would like to be in a healthy size 10. ----05/22/09 - Still here, and have been maintaining the last couple of months. I'm going to work on losing 10 pounds in the next month and just go from there. I at one time weighed 45 pounds more than I do now, but these last 15-20 have seemed to be a much bigger mountain to climb for some reason. I have felt overwhelmed and powerless against them and so I figured that just focusing on losing 10 pounds or so at a time is a much better (and not so overpowering) goal. I'm in a size TWELVE now and this is really awesome, but I think I would like to get down to a size 10 and then I will be content! ----03/25/09 - Here I am! Still at it! I gained a few pounds back, but I am back on track and getting things under control. Some stress at work, stress with relationships and I had turned back to my old vice... emotional eating. I am so excited for the warmer weather to get here so I can get OUTSIDE and exercise. I am also looking forward to swimsuit shopping this summer for the first time in my LIFE! I tried on all my old swimsuits from last summer and they just hang on me. This is really motivating me to keep losing so I look awesome this summer. ----01/29/09 - Well 3 months later, here I am. I HIT MY BIRTHDAY GOAL!!! This has truly been a great journey and I have learned so much about myself. I am looking forward and will continue this journey to be the best me I can be. I'm still not sure what my ultimate goal will be, but I think I may see how I feel after losing 15-16 more pounds. Thank you all for sharing this time with me! Where I started: ----10/18/08 - In 102 days I will celebrate my 27th birthday. I told myself that my 26th year would be the last year I am 'obese'. In 102 days I vow to be a different person! ---------------------------------
-- At my highest I weighed in at 236 pounds and just KNEW that it was the last time I would see that number on the scale. It had to be! I lost some weight on my own, and then I started Sparkpeople in October of 2008 around 220 pounds. My ultimate goal is around 150 pounds. What I've lost: Pounds and pounds of excess weight Extreme tiredness and fatigue PLUS SIZES! Double chins Yucky tummy syndrome (from eating unhealthy foods!) The "Obese" category on BMI charts Horrible self-esteem about being obese. The fat friend/sister/aunt/daughter typecast. What I've gained: Perfect cholesterol and blood pressure. A healthy weight for my height. A trimmer waist. Admiring glances from men. Knowing what it is like to FEEL healthy. Energy and positivity! The ability to put on clothes and feel great with how I look. You can SEE my muscles! Knowing I am doing my best to live a long and healthy life!
