Introduction Text I'm 56 and youngest in the nursing home. I'm paralyzed on my right side, have diabetes, and almost daily seizures. I have two children 10 years apart. My daughter is a freshman in college and my son is doing fine and has a good job. I'm very proud of both of them. My parents support me a lot. I have to lose at least 200 lbs. without being able to exercise. My doctor told me it is impossible for me to lose weight, but with the help of Sparkpeople I hope to prove him wrong. Before I had a stroke, I was a preschool teacher in a Christian school. Although I can't do most of the hobbies I used to do, I can still draw and use a computer(one handed). Now that I have a Bible installed on my computer, I love to read it. I lost 40 lbs before I started Sparkpeople, and 14 lbs. with Sparkpeople. The doctor was obviously wrong!

Lose 200 Pounds. Improve my health. Hopefully get rid of my diabetes. Set an example for my children.

Sticking to the 1500 calorie diet recommended by my doctor. Do what exercise is possible. Learn about good nutrition.
